Farr High School offers a wide range of educational and social opportunities to its growing roll.  We continue to provide children with excellent access to teachers, through small class sizes.  This usually gives rise to good classroom relationships and to a high standard of achievement in public examinations. We operate an open door policy so that parents may visit the school at any reasonable time and, in addition, keep parents, pupils and staff well up to date with activities through a newsletter, regular informative letters and our active and supportive Parent Council.

We make children welcome in the school and promote a kindly but firm policy of discipline which is intended to enable pupils to take a suitable share of responsibility for their own behaviour, and for their attitudes to education and to life.  In November and December 2001 we had a full Standards and Quality Inspection by HMIe.  The report reflects well on the school. (Read or Download a full copy here).

Accommodation shortages at the school have been recognised by Highland Council and some new building has recently been completed.  We have campaigned,  together with the Parent Council and our local Councillor, for further improvements to the fabric of the school which we hope will bring significant developments in the foreseeable  future.

Farr High School has been designated since 1997 as the all through school for our area.  We intend to continue to provide a broad, deep, interesting and expanding curriculum to all pupils in our charge and invite you to place your children with us on completion of their primary education.
